Where We Come From
LP Construction Mgmt was founded in 1999 by Lawrence Petrov, a Detroit native who spent his early career as a field superintendent on some of the city's largest commercial projects. He saw firsthand how owners got burned — by contractors who overpromised, by schedules that slipped, by budgets that ballooned — and he knew there was a better way.
He started LP with a single principle: treat every project like it's your own money on the line. That means showing up every day, asking hard questions, and never letting a problem fester into a crisis. Twenty-five years later, that principle still drives everything we do.
Today, LP manages commercial projects across the Detroit metro — from Midtown redevelopments to suburban medical campuses to industrial conversions. Our team has grown, but our approach hasn't changed: hands-on, accountable, and relentlessly focused on delivering for our clients.

Lawrence Petrov
Founder & CEO
Lawrence founded LP Construction Mgmt in 1999 after 12 years as a field superintendent on major Detroit commercial projects. He holds a BS in Construction Management from Wayne State University and remains actively involved in every major project LP manages.
Sandra Kim
VP of Operations
Sandra oversees LP's full project portfolio and leads the firm's quality control and safety programs. She joined LP in 2008 after managing construction programs for a regional healthcare network and brings deep expertise in complex, phased commercial delivery.
Marcus Webb
Director of Preconstruction
Marcus leads LP's estimating, scheduling, and bid management practice. With 18 years of preconstruction experience across office, retail, and industrial sectors, he's the reason LP projects start with realistic budgets and achievable schedules.
